Lahoud Law Welcomes Accomplished Labor and Employment Attorney David E. Cassidy
ALLENTOWN, Pa. — Lahoud Law Group, P.C. announces that attorney David E. Cassidy has joined the Firm as Of Counsel, enhancing its labor law and employment services.
Mr. Cassidy has nearly 30 years of legal experience assisting employers and individuals with employment, labor, and commercial matters. He is licensed in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and New York, with a focus on litigation, workplace investigations, and business counseling.
His addition is a key step in Lahoud Law Group’s growth and reflects the Firm’s commitment to providing expert advice to various legal clients.
Expanding Lahoud Law Group’s Labor and Employment Capabilities

Mr. Cassidy assists clients with all aspects of the employment relationship, including hiring, workplace policies, employee relations, and litigation.
His experience encompasses various employment-related legal matters including discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, wage disputes, and employment agreements.
Mr. Cassidy helps employers understand and follow employment laws, such as Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, wage-and-hour laws, and state laws like New Jersey’s Law Against Discrimination and New York’s Human Rights Law.
His litigation practice has included representation in federal and state courts, administrative proceedings, arbitration, and other alternative dispute resolution forums.
Decades of Experience in Traditional Labor Law
A significant component of Mr. Cassidy’s career has been devoted to traditional labor law and union-related matters.
Mr. Cassidy spent about ten years working on collective bargaining, labor negotiations, grievance procedures, labor arbitration, and union-management relations, including cases before the National Labor Relations Board.
That background enables Mr. Cassidy to advise employers on the legal and operational issues of unionized workforces, including collective bargaining, employee discipline, grievance handling, arbitration, and federal labor law compliance.
Mr. Cassidy’s labor experience and employment litigation practice offer clients a comprehensive view of workforce issues involving legal exposure, employee relations, and management strategy.
Strategic Workplace Counseling and Investigations
Mr. Cassidy also has a counseling practice aimed at helping employers resolve workplace issues before they escalate into disputes.
He collaborates with business leaders and HR on matters such as discipline, performance, hiring, terminations, employee classification, leave, compliance, and workplace policies.
Mr. Cassidy advises employers on sensitive personnel issues involving senior executives and long-term employees, including whistleblower allegations, workplace complaints, accommodation requests, medical leave, harassment, and discrimination claims.
His workplace investigation experience includes allegations of harassment, discrimination, retaliation, misconduct, management concerns, interpersonal workplace conflicts, and other sensitive internal matters. His approach emphasizes thorough factual development, appropriate documentation, procedural fairness, and an understanding of the legal and business consequences that can follow an internal investigation.
Advising Employers Through Restructuring and Workforce Change
Mr. Cassidy also brings significant experience counseling businesses through reductions in force, reorganizations, and workforce restructuring.
His work in this area includes advising employers regarding WARN Act obligations, employee-selection considerations, separation and severance strategies, releases of claims, communications with affected employees, and litigation risks arising from significant workforce changes.
As businesses continue to confront economic uncertainty, organizational restructuring, remote and hybrid work arrangements, evolving regulatory requirements, and increasingly complex employee-relations issues, this experience adds another important dimension to Lahoud Law Group’s ability to advise business clients on consequential workforce decisions.
Experience Representing Both Employers and Executives
A distinguishing feature of Mr. Cassidy’s practice is his experience representing clients on both sides of the employment relationship.
Throughout his career, he has represented employers as well as executives, professionals, and individual employees. That experience provides insight into how employment disputes may be evaluated and litigated from competing perspectives.
For employer clients, that perspective can assist in identifying vulnerabilities before claims are asserted, assessing workplace complaints, anticipating opposing arguments, and developing strategies aimed at reducing unnecessary litigation exposure.
Mr. Cassidy assists executives and professionals with employment agreements, severance packages, and issues during career changes.
Restrictive Covenants, Trade Secrets, and Executive Transitions
Mr. Cassidy’s practice also encompasses disputes involving noncompetition agreements, nonsolicitation provisions, confidentiality agreements, proprietary information, trade secrets, and post-employment restrictions.
These matters frequently arise when senior executives, employees, customers, or business relationships transition between competing organizations.
In addressing these disputes, Mr. Cassidy evaluates the contractual provisions at issue together with the underlying commercial considerations—including the employee’s position, customer relationships, competitive interests, proprietary information, enforceability concerns, and the potential need for injunctive or other judicial relief.
Business Counseling and Outside General Counsel Services
Beyond labor and employment law, Mr. Cassidy has substantial experience advising businesses regarding broader operational and commercial matters.
He has served in an outside-counsel capacity for businesses that require sophisticated legal support without maintaining a full-time internal legal department. In that role, he has advised clients regarding contracts, commercial relationships, employment matters, regulatory compliance, dispute avoidance, risk management, and other day-to-day legal issues affecting business operations.
Mr. Cassidy frequently works directly with owners, senior executives, and management teams to identify legal risk and develop practical solutions that take into account not only the governing law, but also the business consequences of available options.
His practice therefore complements Lahoud Law Group’s representation of closely held businesses, corporations, entrepreneurs, executives, professionals, and organizations confronting legal issues that cross traditional practice-area boundaries.
Public-Sector Labor and Employment Experience
Mr. Cassidy also brings experience representing municipalities and other public-sector clients in labor and employment matters.
His work has included collective bargaining, employee relations, discipline, workplace policies, and related employment issues involving governmental organizations.
Public-sector employment matters frequently present distinct statutory, procedural, institutional, and collective-bargaining considerations, and Mr. Cassidy’s experience in this area further broadens the range of organizations Lahoud Law Group is positioned to counsel.
A Career Built Around Advocacy and Practical Counsel
Before joining Lahoud Law Group, Mr. Cassidy founded Cassidy Law Group, where his practice focused on labor, employment, and business law. He previously practiced with Vlasac & Cassidy, LLC and Vlasac & Shmaruk, developing extensive experience in employment litigation, traditional labor matters, workplace counseling, and commercial disputes.
Mr. Cassidy has been admitted to practice in New Jersey since 1996, New York since 1997, and Pennsylvania since 2011.
Throughout his career, his practice has merged litigation with practical advice. Whether negotiating contracts, defending employment claims, conducting investigations, handling personnel issues, or advising management on business matters, he focuses on understanding the client’s goals and creating strategies that address legal risks and business needs.
An Integrated Approach to Immigration, Employment, and Business Law
Mr. Cassidy’s arrival is particularly significant for Lahoud Law Group’s corporate and business clients because labor, employment, corporate, and immigration law increasingly intersect.
Companies hiring foreign workers often face challenges with hiring, pay, workplace rules, relocating executives, restructuring, layoffs, job classifications, mergers, and workforce planning, which can have legal and immigration implications.
By adding Mr. Cassidy’s skills, Lahoud Law Group improves its ability to manage immigration and business matters together. Mr. Cassidy’s arrival enhances the Firm’s capability to advise companies with diverse workforces across various jurisdictions.
