ALERT: RETIRED FEDERAL IMMIGRATION JUDGE ALBERTO J. RIEFKOHL JOINS LAHOUD LAW GROUP

Lahoud Law Group, P.C. is happy to announce that the Honorable Alberto J. Reifkohl (Ret) has officially joined the firm, effective February 2, 2026. Alberto Riefkohl brings 50 years of legal experience and a lifetime of public service to the immigration practice at Lahoud Law Group P.C, including over 30 years on the bench as a Federal Immigration Judge. Judge Reifkohl is known as one of the nation’s preeminent scholars in immigration law and removal litigation.

Originally from Puerto Rico, Judge Riefkohl earned his B.A. in Psychology & Political Science (1968) & Juris Doctorate (1974) from the University of Puerto Rico, Main Campus. Before taking the bench, Alberto Riefkohl spent his career in both public service as a trial attorney in the Litigation Division of the former Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) in New York, where he gained first-hand experience in immigration enforcement and administrative legal processes, and in private practice, building experience across a broad scope of legal matters. During his tenure on the bench, Judge Riefkohl earned a reputation for the thorough and careful adjudication of the matters before him. His decisions have been part of appellate review proceedings, including cases heard by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, indicating that his judicial rulings have contributed to significant immigration law jurisprudence over time.
