Immigration Attorney Raymond Lahoud Discussed Immigration Law and the Real Estate Industry for NAREB

Yesterday, I was honored to speak before the National Association of Real Estate Broker’s Southern New Jersey Regional Board (NAREB) on the impact of the American immigration system and the current Administration’s enforcement actions on New Jersey’s real estate industry.

The food was incredible, the information was plentiful, the interest was intense, and the questions were many–from whether the City of Camden could be designated an EB-5 Regional Center and how an undocumented individual could qualify for a mortgage through an ITIN lenders, to questions about landlords threatening to call Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE) on undocumented tenants, and what remedies exist for to so many forced to live in deplorable conditions for fear ICE will knock on their door if they lodge a complaint.

A special thank you to NAREB’s Southern New Jersey Regional Board and Terri Trotter – Chairman of the NAREB Southern New Jersey Board, one of New Jersey’s leading real estate agents, real estate development entrepreneur, and co-founder of the Jeremiah Trotter Foundation for diabetes research and education–for bringing dozens of Camden and Burlington County real estate leaders together to discuss the important and pressing matter of immigration.

Also, many thanks to all NAREB members who attended. And as I said at the seminar, I’m always just a call (908-821-1868) or e-mail (RGLahoud@norris-law.com) away to answer any questions.
